Network Meeting: “Learning German quickly”

In the beginning of December 2016, Jeannine Budelmann was invited by the network “Companies integrate refugees” – which is operating nationwide – to participate in an expert panel. During the first network meeting in Berlin the managing director of Budelmann Elektronik GmbH talked about “Vocational Oriented Language Learning”. According to Budelmann, learning the language is crucial to manage work and daily life and is not always easy in the beginning. She offers refugees to go to language school twice a week and to work in her company for three days a week.

A different kind of cash disposal

Increasing fees for withdrawing cash from ATMs are an ongoing issue. More and more banks also reduce their opening hours making it even more inconvenient for customers to get cash. Christoph Budelmann proposes a countermovement in his latest column for Vending Management: Equipping new vending machines with cash withdrawal functionality. Suggesting this, he picks up the basic idea of his previous column: One has too much cash and needs to pay for its disposal; the other one doesn’t have it but needs it.

Cash – the German’s dearest friend

While it is perfectly normal in other countries to pay small amounts with your mobile phone or credit card, Germans still tend to prefer paying with cash. What does this mean for the vending sector? In his current column for the Vending Management magazine Christoph Budelmann presents his idea of upgrading vending machines with an authentication device that allows cooperating retailers to deposit bills and to receive coins in return. The advantage: Retailers don’t have to obtain their cash through a bank or a CiT company which can be rather pricey.

Just take the plunge

According to this motto Budelmann Elektronik GmbH is involved in the “Network Companies integrate Refugees”. During one of the last network meetings Jeannine Budelmann was asked which advice she would give to companies which are interested in integrating refugees: You just have to “take the plunge” to employ a refugee. The “Network Companies integrate Refugees” eventually borrowed this clear and simple statement and used it for their postcard campaign.

In-company integration of refugees

The network event “Companies integrate refugees” took place on July 7. Speakers from different institutions informed the audience about in-company integration of refugees.
Next to representatives from the local job agency and department of foreigners Jeannine Budelmann was invited to share her experience. ”We offer an entry qualification to a refugee, which runs over the course of a year. Three times a week he works in our company, two times a week he takes languages lessons”, the CEO tells the audience.

New Research Project OptED

In the beginning of May a new research project was launched: OptED focuses on the use of data glasses during the manufacturing process of electronic components. Budelmann Elektronik develops an innovative software solution which supports quality assurance during manual circuit board assembly.

Industry 4.0

The fourth industrial revolution is part of many discussions nowadays. In his latest column for Vending Management Christoph Budelmann describes which possibilities industry 4.0 can offer to the vending sector. Nevertheless, he emphasizes that many companies already have implemented applications by now and that is seen as a standard by customers today. Thus, a market differentiation is not really possible anymore if you solely rely on industry 4.0. That’s why we would like to encourage you to consider future trends in order to react to them in a timely manner.

Principles of orderly bookkeeping in vending

In addition to Christoph Budelmann’s last column for Vending Management discussing possible amendments concerning electronic sales data read-out, the current column deals with the legal requirements that are already in effect. All vendors should make themselves familiar with their vending machines since the taxable person is responsible for the correctness of its records. Ask your supplier to make sure that everything is recorded accordingly! It is technically feasible to record every single transaction. If you have any further questions, don’t hesitate to contact us!

Electronic sales data read-out

In the world of vending machines a paper published by the ministry of finance creates confusion: Storage of digital records on cash transactions supposedly comes into effect in 2017, requiring modifications in software and construction. The paper has been published on November 26, 2010 by the German federal ministry of finance and refers to cash registers, scales with register functions, taximeters and odometers. We asked the ministry which effect the writing has on our customers’ products.
